Chester Township Public Schools Health & PE The goal of our comprehensive health and physical education program in full compliance with New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards for Health and Physical Education and provide a quality program that empowers students to make informed decisions about issues that impact their present health, the health of their family and the health of society at-large and enable students to enact students-enhancing behaviors before damaging patterns are firmly established. These goal are designed to enhance students' ability to become cautious and competent consumers and to strengthen students' ability to recognize, analyze and react to unhealthy or dangerous situations in a safe and appropriate manner. 3rd Grade The 3rd Grade Health and Physical Education program explores concepts of movement techniques, skills and fitness. Movement Concepts
The learner will be able to perform locomotor (walk, run, jump), non-jump (bend, reach, turn), and manipulative (throw, strike, kick) movement skills. The students will be able to execute movement skills through instruction, various problem solving and solving activity-type situations and games. (NJCCCS 2.5).

The learner will be able to modify basic movement skills by applying movement concepts (direction, speed) biomechanical principles (force, projection), and movement (tempo, beat).
