Technology Room

Text Box: Each time the students come to the technology room they receive a short lesson. The lessons involve the teaching or reviewing of computer terms they need to know, and how to operate the software program that is installed for the day’s lesson.  Edmark produces most of the software that is used in the Dickerson Computer room.  This company has a large variety of titles for the K-2 age group.  Most of their programs have a “grow slide” so advanced students can challenge themselves with harder levels, and those less confident can practice at easier levels. Students have earphones, so distractions are minimized.

Each month a different curricula area is chosen.  By the time the year is over, students have done Math, Reading, Science, Art, Language Arts, Language & Culture, and Music programs.  All are selected to enhance the curriculum and give students the exposure to the different talents they may possess.
