About Mrs. Connelly

  • I grew up in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey, attending school in the Jefferson Township School District.  I have known since the first grade that I wanted to be a teacher.  I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania.  My first job was in the same place I went to elementary school in Jefferson! Later I taught in the Millburn School District.  I have taught every grade, from Pre-K to sixth.  I received a masters in Reading from William Paterson University and a master's in Educational Leadership from Centenary College.  I also hold certificates for reading specialist, inclusion, media, supervisor and principal COE.

My husband Rob and I were married in 2001.  We live in Long Valley with our three awesome boys, Jack, RJ and Brody.  After Jack was born, I accepted a job at Sussex County Community College teaching as a professor in the Early Childhood Education Department teaching a course in Children's Literature.  After Brody was born, I was thrilled to join the Chester School District as the Media Specialist for Bragg and Dickerson School.

In my spare time, I like to read, paint, sew and go to the beach.

Reading is my passion so I love putting wonderful books into the hands of the K-5 students in Chester.
