Welcome to the Second Grade!
Dear Second Grader,
Hello and welcome to second grade! I am very excited about being your teacher this year! I hope that you are having a wonderful summer and are now getting ready to start school. You are going to LOVE second grade. We are going to make EVERY day an adventure and you are going to learn about so many fabulous things!
Dickerson School is having a "Meet Your Teacher" day on Tuesday, August 27th anytime between 2:30-3:30pm. Please come and visit me if you can! You can see our classroom (Room 102), find your desk and meet some of your new classmates! If you are unable to come, I look forward to meeting you on the first day of school.
I have some very IMPORTANT INFORMATION for you! On the left, you will see our 2nd Grade supply list. There are only a few items that you need to bring on the first day for the school year. I will supply all the other materials and supplies that you will need. Please don't forget to complete Pick-Up Patrol every day! I want to make sure everyone gets home safely!
On the first day of school, Aug. 28, there will be teachers and helpers waiting for you when you get off the bus or when you are dropped off. If you need help finding the classroom, they can assist you. I'll be at the classroom door, waiting for you.
On our first day of school, your backpack should contain a leak-proof water bottle, art smock, headphones/earbuds, your lunchbox (if you are bringing lunch), and a separate re-useable snack bag with a small, healthy, NUT-FREE snack. Please make sure that your NAME is on your backpack, snack bag and lunch box.

The most important thing that I need you to bring to school with you every day is a BIG SMILE! I will always have one for you too! I cannot wait to meet you! We are going to have a GREAT year!
