The Technology Department is responsible for planning, development, support and maintenance of the technology program for the Chester School District. The department is composed of Director of Technology Dr. Kathryn Nieves Licwinko, District Data Coordinator Dana Augello, Technical Support Specialist Mark Altiero, Senior Technical Support Specialist John Machusky, and Technical Support Specialist Ryan Leone. These individuals are responsible for all facets of the technology program, and provide service and support for all users district wide.
Assisting the Technology Department with implementation of technology use in the classroom is the Director of PRE and Technology Coaches. Mr. Brad Currie, Director of Planning, Research, and Evaluation, works with the technology coaches to implement technology to the fullest in our classrooms. The coaches are Mrs. Laura Garrison and Mrs. Tricia Pohan. The Technology Coaches train staff on new technology or software, as well as give refresher training on currently used hardware and software. Chester School District is lucky to be able to rely on the coaches as a resource on a daily basis.
The Chester School District is proud of the comprehensive technology program it offers the district staff and students. Each classroom teacher has a cart equipped with a laptop computer, projector, printer, and SmartBoard to use as teaching tools. Every classroom also is equipped with VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) phone system which provides internet access, telephone service and voicemail. Our wireless system allows staff and students to log on with a laptop computer, tablet, or chromebook from anywhere in the district.
Chester School District expanded their 1:1 initiative at the start of the 2016-2017 school year. All students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 will be assigned a dedicated chromebook to use on a daily basis. Click here to read more about our Chromebook Initiative.
