Information Regarding Protection Plan of BRMS Chromebooks
All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students can opt into a nonrefundable maintenance fee of $40 per student per year. The annual fee will cover accidental damages. It is important the devices be handled with care and responsibility. In an effort to prevent accidental damages the school district will provide a protective case for all chromebooks. Students are required to keep the cases on the chromebooks at all times. If the device is willfully damage beyond repair or value, lost, missing, stolen, or cannot be returned to the district , the parent or guardian will be charged the full price of the repair or replacement device. Power adapters that are accidentally lost or damaged will not be replaced. Additional or replacement power adapters can be purchased through the district’s Technology Department. After graduation students will keep their chromebook devices. In order to be eligible to keep the device a student will need to go to Chester School District and pay the associated fees in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. For instance, if a student starts at BRMS in 7th grade or if a student leaves the district for 7th grade but comes back for 8th grade, they would not be eligible to keep their device after graduation. Accidental drop causing a cracked screen
Lost, stolen, or missing device
Accidental liquid damage
Damage due to fire
Lost Power Adapter
Power supply or motherboard issues
Chromebook damaged with case removed
Accidental drops, liquid damage, broken keyboards, or any damage unintentional will be covered under this fee. These repairs can be used once per calendar year. Additional instances of repairs will not be covered and the parent or guardian will be charged the full repair price.
