He then spent the last six years as Superintendent of Stillwater Township School District, with three of those years also serving as the shared Superintendent for Sandyston-Walpack Consolidated School District.

Throughout his tenure as Superintendent, Dr. Kochis has demonstrated his ability to lead with vision and strategy, emphasizing strong, effective communication with Board of Education members and fostering collaboration with the community, staff, and students to enhance student achievement. He has implemented innovative programming, promoted the use of educational technology, strengthened safety and security measures, and led efforts to develop mental health programs that support students’ social-emotional well-being.

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Kochis enjoys spending quality time with his wife and 10-year-old son. He is also deeply involved in his community, dedicating his time to coaching youth basketball and lacrosse, where he fosters teamwork and sportsmanship. Above all, he is passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed. Dr. Kochis looks forward to working closely with families, staff, and the community to ensure that Chester students continue to thrive.
