    Dear Parents,

Welcome back to another school year. I hope you and your family had an enjoyable summer!

My name is Stephanie Schultz and I will be your child’s speech and language specialist this school year. I am excited to be entering my fifth school year with The Chester School District. This school year, I will be working in both Black River Middle School and Dickerson Elementary School.

I had a very busy and exciting summer in which I worked at the Chester School District’s Camp Achieve program from July 10th- August 10th.  Additionally, I visited Boston, Washington D.C., Myrtle Beach, and Chicago. I also made an effort to make it down the shore since the beach is my ultimate happy place!

I joined the Chester School District in 2013 after working as a speech language specialist at Spectrum360, formerly known as The Children’s Institute in Verona, NJ. Spectrum360 is a specialized school for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities. Prior to Spectrum360, I received my master’s degree from Kean University and my undergraduate degree from The University of Connecticut. Go Huskies!

I am currently certified as a Speech-Language Specialist by the New Jersey State Department of Education, licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of New Jersey, and hold a Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.  Additionally, I work for an early intervention agency and work with children birth-three with developmental delays in Essex County.

Your child will be asked to complete weekly homework assignments, which will mirror the skills we are working on in therapy. I ask that you please monitor homework and initial any worksheets or notes in the homework book. This will indicate that you have read the note and/or heard your child practice the homework. Please send the homework book in with your child on the day that he or she attends speech.

I look forward to a wonderful school year of growth for your child.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to write in the speech notebook or e-mail me directly at Stephanie.Schultz@chester-nj.org. Since I cover multiple buildings, e-mail is the best way to reach me.

Thank you for your support in reaching our goals as a team!

    Sincerely,

    Stephanie Schultz, M.A., CCC-SLP
