    My Teaching Philosophy

Haim Ginott, a well-known child psychologist and author, once stated, “To reach a child’s mind a teacher must first capture his heart. Only if a child feels right can he think right.” My teaching philosophy includes making every child feel special and important, inspiring children in the classroom to be smart and kind people, as well as, instilling in them a love for learning. I believe a positive atmosphere can open up students to these things. When a student feels comfortable, they are more open to learn and grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.

The early years of a child are crucial to their development. This is a time where they are trying to figure out who they are and make decisions. It is my responsibility, as their teacher, to show them love and care while also teaching them academic skills and important life skills, such as sharing and listening. All children are capable of learning, no matter what their abilities are. Each child will be looked at individually and their needs will be met. In a nurturing and positive environment, children can develop as confident learners both inside and outside of the classroom.

As an educator, I strive be patient, passionate, loving and flexible every day. At the end of the day, it is my love for children that is my reason for wanting to be a teacher. I want to make a positive difference in every child’s life.
